Why Choose Dementia Home Care?
Blossom Home Care provides the highest level of bloomin’ good care to people who have been diagnosed with dementia and want to continue living in their own home.
We appreciate the immense stress that comes with a dementia diagnosis, as well as the worry it brings to the wider family.
This is why our dementia care services go beyond helping the person at the centre, and include supporting their loved ones as much as possible.
Consistent, Trusted Carers
We understand how important it is for those living with dementia to feel comfortable and reassured. That’s why we pair each client with a small, dedicated team of caregivers they can trust. Having familiar faces around can truly make a positive impact in their everyday life.
Truly Person-Centred Care
Every person’s journey with dementia is unique, and we understand that deeply. That’s why we create personalised care plans that honour each individual’s history, preferences, and the things that truly matter to them, helping them feel as much like themselves as possible.
Family Peace of Mind
We understand the extended impact that dementia has on the wider family. We prioritise supporting families by keeping you informed and involved every step of the way. You'll always know how your loved one is doing.
Flexible Support, When You Need It
We provide flexible support options, that are as unique as you. Whether you need just a few hours of care each week or a full-time, live-in caregiver, we are here to ensure that your loved one receives the appropriate level of care they deserve. Our services are designed to adapt and evolve as their needs change.
Specialist Dementia Training
Your loved ones will always be paired with Blossom carers who undergo specialist dementia training. We ensure that our carers understand more than just the condition, and we respond with patience, skill, and compassion.
Familiar Surroundings
Home is a place where cherished memories live. Being in a familiar environment can bring comfort and reduce feelings of confusion. It helps us hold onto daily routines that feel safe and manageable, allowing us to navigate our days with a sense of security and peace.
At Blossom, our dementia home care is designed around the person, not a schedule.
Every care plan is individual, every carer is trained in dementia support, and every visit is an opportunity to bring warmth, reassurance, connection, comfort and calm to your own and your loved one’s day.
Signs Loved Ones May Need Dementia Support at Home
Recognising when it’s time to seek help can be a challenging journey for many families. Many find themselves navigating difficult situations on their own for months or even years before finally reaching out for professional support, often when they’re in a state of crisis. Noticing the early signs that a loved one might need some extra care can truly make a meaningful difference in their safety and overall quality of life.
It may be time to explore dementia home care if your loved one is:
- Forgetting to take medication, or taking it incorrectly
- Leaving the hob on, taps running, or doors unlocked
- Becoming confused about dates, times, or familiar places
- Withdrawing from activities and social contact they previously enjoyed
- Struggling to manage meals, shopping, or personal hygiene independently
- At risk of falls, or has had a recent fall at home
- Being left unsupported while a family carer needs rest or is unavailable
- Becoming harder to communicate with, or repeating conversations
If any of these signs seem familiar, we’re here to help – with no obligation or pressure.
How to Arrange Dementia Care With Blossom Home Care
Call or Contact Your Local Home Care Team
Get in contact with your local Blossom Home Care team to talk to someone who understands dementia care, can discuss your needs and will answer all your questions honestly, with no obligation.
We Arrange a No-Obligation Care Assessment
A Blossom care coordinator will visit you and your loved ones at home, at a time that suits you to discuss your needs, routines and what matters most to you to build your fully tailored care plan.
Start Your Care Journey Within Days
We then create a bespoke dementia care plan- not a one-size-fits-all package. We'll match your loved one with carers who are the right fit for them. Together, we’ll agree on a start date, allowing us to begin your care journey with ease and confidence.
Every care journey is unique, just like our care plans. We will tailor this journey based on the needs of you and your loved ones.
From the moment you enquire about our premium home care services, your local care coordinator will work closely with you, your loved ones and any members of your multidisciplinary team (MDT) to establish exactly what level of care you require.

Types of Dementia We Support
The term ‘dementia’ describes a wide range of progressive neurological disorders. Understanding the type of dementia your loved one has been diagnosed with can help you ask the right questions and find the right support. Blossom’s carers are trained to support all of the most common forms of dementia.
Alzheimer's Disease
Alzheimer's Disease
Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia, accounting for the majority of diagnoses in the UK. It is caused by protein build-up in the brain that gradually disrupts nerve cell connections, typically beginning with short-term memory – repeating conversations, forgetting names, or losing track of recent events.
Our carers use gentle, consistent communication and prioritise familiar routines, which are especially important for reducing anxiety as the condition progresses. We also support families with practical guidance on communicating effectively at each stage.
Vascular Dementia
Vascular Dementia
Vascular dementia is the second most common form, caused by reduced blood flow to the brain – often following a stroke. Unlike Alzheimer’s, it can develop more suddenly and progress in steps. Symptoms commonly include slowed thinking, difficulty concentrating, and problems with problem-solving, sometimes alongside physical effects such as weakness or balance difficulties.
Because vascular dementia can affect mobility as well as cognition, our carers are trained in both areas- supporting safe movement, medication management, and the healthy daily routines that matter for long-term wellbeing.
Lewy Body Dementia
Lewy Body Dementia
Lewy body dementia is caused by abnormal protein deposits in the brain and shares features with both Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. It can be one of the more complex dementias to live with, often involving vivid visual hallucinations, significant fluctuations in alertness, sleep disturbances, and Parkinson’s-like physical symptoms such as tremors and stiffness.
Our carers are trained to respond calmly and reassuringly, never dismissing or arguing with someone’s experience, while remaining alert to the physical risks, particularly falls, that this condition can bring.
Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD)
Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD)
Frontotemporal dementia affects the areas of the brain governing personality, behaviour, and language. It tends to develop at a younger age than other dementias and can present very differently – with changes in personality, impulsive behaviour, or significant difficulties finding words – often without obvious memory loss in the early stages.
FTD requires carers with a high level of understanding and emotional resilience. Our team approaches behavioural changes with empathy rather than judgement, working closely with families to understand the individual and build care around who they are.

Client Feedback
Happy Clients
What Our Clients Say.
You have been caring for my father, Peter Gregory, in Northallerton for almost a year. My name is Jane and I am one of Peter’s daughters and I live in the USA. I am able to come over and visit my parents every three months and I have just returned from a visit.
I wanted to say thank you for the absolutely fantastic care that my father is receiving from you. As you can imagine, being so far away, it is a constant concern that he is being well cared for. I have had the pleasure of meeting a number of his carers and I know that he is very happy with all of them. I would say in particular he has received exceptional care and attention to tiny details from Qais Ala and Sijit Chandran and I am so grateful to both of them.

I am really pleased with the care provided by Blossom to my Dad.
Blossom has been helping Dad for a few months now and he, and my Mum, have nothing but praise for the carers they have had at the house. They have told me how hard all the carers work.
Thank you to everyone at Blossom, which includes staff arranging rotas/checking notes/responding to phone calls as well as all the carers who help to support Mum and Dad in their own home.
