It’s been a fantastic first few months for the team at Blossom Lincolnshire.
Upon opening their doors in November 2023, they became the first branch to have a shop front office, taking ownership of a prime spot in Grimsby town centre.
At the time of opening, we stated how the decision to establish shop front offices serves as testament to our belief in fostering transparent and accessible connections with the communities we serve.
This goal has now been perfectly exemplified by Blossom Lincolnshire, after they won the Business in the Community Award at the North East Lincolnshire Civic Awards.
The award, presented by the Mayor of North East Lincolnshire, Ian Lindley, celebrates businesses that go beyond commercial pursuits to make a tangible difference in the community. Blossom stood out among a diverse group of nominees, including schools and networking companies, for its exceptional contributions and service ethos.
“It was heartening to hear about the positive experience families have had with care provided by Blossom Home Care,” explained Ian Lindley when handing over the award.
“Their dedication to professionalism, empathy, and going above and beyond is commendable and undoubtedly brings comfort to families during difficult times. It sounds like they truly make a difference in the lives of their clients and their families.”
“We’ve had 100% positive feedback from our clients”
We caught up with the manager of Blossom Lincolnshire, Sharan Gohil, to find out what winning the award means to the team.
Congratulations on this well-deserved award, Sharan! How do you feel about it?
Really overwhelmed and happy! We didn’t expect to win something like this so soon after opening – even being shortlisted was a shock. Several of our clients nominated us and gave reasons why we deserved to win, so we have to thank everyone who did. Winning this has given us even more confidence and faith in what we are providing our clients.
What does it mean to you to be able to serve your community?
It means everything to us. We’ve only been open for six months but we’ve had such a good response from the people of Grimsby already. We’ve had 100% positive feedback, not only from clients, but also clients’ family members and friends.
What makes your team in Lincolnshire so special?
Our carers are just amazing. We have such a strong ethos amongst us all – we are all one team working together for the benefit of our clients. Our team comes to work every day wanting to care for our clients, rather than seeing it as just a job they have to do. This allows us to go above and beyond the basic realms of care.
We also place real value in constant communication with clients and their loved ones to ensure clients feel valued and respected.
A commitment to the community
Our mission extends far beyond just providing bloomin’ good care to clients. Across the country, Blossom offices are deeply involved in local community activities, not only raising awareness for various causes, but also actively participating in fundraising and community service.
You can read more about this in our dedicated news articles covering our sponsorship of Harrogate Town AFC’s community initiative for the elderly, and Blossom Canterbury’s fundraising efforts for the local Help For Teagan campaign.
This engagement is a core part of our identity and reflects our belief in giving back to the communities our local offices serve.
