I first applied to Blossom Home Care because they had a qualified Nurse as a director and their ethos of ‘everyone deserves the best individual care possible’ was extremely important to me. Although a little apprehensive at first I feel I can now safely say that I am a happy carer once more. You see with my last company I was sometimes working 15-hour shifts but often only getting paid for half that due to travel times etc. Blossom Home Care’s system seems fairer for everyone – carers and clients. There are no 15/30-minute calls. Instead all the calls start at 50 minutes, which is lovely, as I don’t have to rush everything! I can now spend time chatting with the client over a cuppa as well as complete all my jobs and get time to travel between calls to do the necessary travel.
Blossom Home Care only contacts you when they need to rather than being constantly on the phone. Their paperwork is also easier to complete and follow. That’s because Blossom Home Care is not your everyday Care Company. I really feel that they are a cut above the rest; even our uniform is different!
I also find it refreshing to work for people who know AND care about what they provide and who are on the same page as you. Blossom is open and honest with me about what’s going on.
Blossom Home Care is definitely the best company I have ever worked for. The work is so varied and satisfying. Personal care one minute, shopping the next, and then maybe helping a client to fill hay bags for the horses! All the team work to a professional standard and are so friendly. The management is superb and there is an open door policy, they are always happy to listen and discuss things. Coming here to work for Blossom is the best thing I have ever done.
