Following Blossom Home Care’s win in the Palliative Care Award at the North East Great British Care Awards in 2019, they were automatically put through to the National Awards.
This award recognises the specialist, professional support needed by someone who is at the end of their life and nominees needed to demonstrate how they maintained dignity and respect for the client and supported family members at such a difficult time.
Judging interviews for the National Awards took place in March 2020 and following these the National Awards took place on 30th October 2020. Although Blossom Home Care did not win the National Award for Palliative Care, they received a ‘Highly Commended’ recognition.
The team at the Northallerton office received a certificate in recognition of their commendation and can also display the highly commended National Finals logo on promotional literature.
The words from the judges:
“A dedicated home care team, who pride themselves with a minimum of 50-minute visits. Extended to meet the needs of the clients – often without extra cost. Passionate about end of life care, caring for people in their own home.”
“It’s really great for the team to receive this commendation for palliative care,” said Fiona Leggott, Director of Blossom Home Care. “We are passionate about what we do and very focused on meeting all the needs of our clients. End of life care is particularly challenging so I am extremely proud that the team have been commended in this way.”
