We’ve been blooming for 4 years

As we approach August, we can’t believe that it’s almost 4 years since we received CQC approval and established the business in Northallerton. Yes, on 26th August 2015 we received approval and what a 4 years it’s been!

Where Blossom began…

We established the business when we realised that there was a need for a service provider offering quality personalised care to elderly people who wanted to remain in their own home. As a fully qualified Registered Nurse, Fiona had witnessed first-hand the devastation that failing, low-cost home care was having on people and their families. Together, we decided to do something about it and here we are 4 years later looking back on what has been achieved.

How we have developed

From celebrating our 1st birthday with a client party at Northallerton; to battling through the “Beast from the East” to keep delivering care in April 2018, and most recently working our way through the heatwave of July 2018. The contrast was incredible! Also in 2018, having opened our Tadcaster office, we delivered our first 100,000 visits – another milestone!

Speaking of visits… Over the past 4 years we have never increased our rates to any existing clients for their visits. When a new client comes to us, their rate becomes their rate for the duration of their care. This means that clients are recognised for their loyalty (not something many other care companies do, we believe). Maybe that’s one of the reasons why we’ve been regional and national finalists in the Great British Care Awards, and won the Best Customer Service Award in the Hambleton Business Awards too.

And 2019? Well, we’ve increased our carer rates and achieved a good rating from the CQC for Northallerton so far. All in all, I don’t think that back in 2015 we could have wished for a better first 4 years! Here’s to the next 4 years.
